#6: Feminine Energy

Peace everyone! I was real close to not posting this week, but I hear that a lot of people are ready to heal and my blogs help provide certain insight so I had to deliver! This post is different.. This time, I decided to do a real-time reflection.

Who runs the world?

“In fact, several women and two men helped shape me into the woman I am today.”

Not to be cliché but it REALLY is the feminine energy for me! Please do not get me wrong, I LOVE our melanated husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, Gods, kings, etc. But in this exact moment, the feminine energy is showing out for me! Many of you may be surprised that I am saying this because you can easily think of a woman right now who’s energy may not match your frequency so you’re like, really Aniqua? We killing it like that? And the answer is YES! In fact, several women and two men helped shape me into the woman I am today.

Mommy and Me

I previously mentioned that my mom was in high school when she beautifully birthed my soul into this lifetime/timeline/dimension, whatever you prefer to call it. At the age of 17 she began to lay the foundation within me of what being a woman -a melanin rich, magical, bold, humorous, spiritual, precise, curious, ambitious woman - entails. While I cannot say that the journey to becoming all of that did not come with some roadblocks, I can say that the journey was a transformational one! This is important because the entire point of my journey is to transform. Rather that’s transforming from having bad thoughts to having good ones, or from eating meat 7 days a week to eating it 5 days a week (gradually decreasing my meat consumption has been the key in helping me transition to a meat free diet recently) or transforming from wanting happiness to realizing you can create it by choosing to be happy and do what makes you happy. Either way, it was my mom’s feminine energy that initiated that fire within me. Even today, 8 years since her passing/releasing of this human experience, I can still feel her energy! She’s always looking out, covering me, warning me, enlightening me.

Setting The Example

Please do not get me started on my daughters! Being a mom has allowed me to understand my mom, and her mom and her mom’s mom, SO much better. Real healing, gratitude and forgiveness is able to happen which results in me being able to pour into my girls in a way that I never knew was possible. The other day my 2 year old and my 8 year old were talking about how pretty their natural hair is. Y’all… my heart melted because I remember when my 8 year old was 4 and she was sad because she wanted straight hair and not “puffy” hair. At that time, natural hair wasn’t the “trend”. So me, with my relaxed pin curls (lol) told her how beautiful hair was and how painful/limiting/addicting relaxers can be and now, 3 years later, she’s talking about the beauty of melanin rich natural hair with her baby sister. Needless to say, on that day 4 years ago, I stopped putting harsh chemicals in my hair and decided to learn how to care for my natural coils while caring for my daughter’s. I figured I could not fully teach her how to love her true self if I wasn’t willing to do the same. I give my daughters a lot of the credit for transforming me into an HONEST woman. I’ve had to start telling all types of truths, in addition to changing my actions, in order to pour truth into my seeds. We do not want our kids filled with lies. Plus, we are rising a Taurus and a Leo, so they will quickly let me know if I’m requesting more of them than I’m willing to do myself.

Sisterhood

I’m the oldest of 4 sisters. All of my sisters are brilliant and incredibly talented! Their feminine energy has truly transformed me into an aware woman. One taught me how to have fun! Many people did not know the type of fear and stress I was masking at a young age but being my very first sister, I was able to experience pure joy every time we were/are together. From running down to the candy lady (that was our great grandma), to chasing Mikey (the family dog) when he would get away on our walks, it was always laughing involved and that was so healing for me. Then, my second sister taught me a sense of responsibility. I was starting to get older and any time I held her my heart was so warm. I wanted to provide the best care for her. I took pride in being able to watch her while my amazing bonus mom cooked us up something delicious! And just when I thought it couldn’t get any sweeter, my 3rd sister slid in with the gift of showing me that love is limitless. My love expanded immediately as soon as I saw her! I remember thinking wow, I can love as many people as I want and never run out of love. It’s just something about sisters, they are so mesmerizing! My last sister, aka my first daughter (she hates when I refer to myself as her mom, lol) helped me discover, strengthen, believe and claim the power inside of me. It is the transformational feminine energy of each of my sisters that continue to uplift me today.

The Village

“While it is the feminine energy for me in this moment of my life, it’s ALWAYS the combined feminine AND masculine energy that makes the world go around.”

Then there's my friends, fellow goddesses, mentors, cousins, colleagues, etc! The ability to self-reflect, understand, empower, support, and motivate women comes from them. We each are pouring into one another so beautifully right now! And I am referring to every feminine goddess I’ve ever formed a friendship with. From when I was in kindergarten up to today, I’ve been so fortunate to always be able to learn, grow, and experience life with some empowering girls/ladies. It’s so real that I had to make a blog post about it! And yes, I am going to shoutout my husband for the security, companionship, judgment free, love that he energizes me with because it aids in me transforming into a woman that trust herself. My remarkable father aided in the creation of me so you know he gets my love as well! He has instilled strength, success, and unconditional love throughout each cell of my body/vessel/armor. While it is the feminine energy for me in this moment of my life, it’s ALWAYS the combined feminine AND masculine energy that makes the world go around. It’s also the UNION of the melanated people for me!

To all my sisters out there, the ones that are on this journey, I see you! Thank you so much for seeing me too! We are killing it and our feminine energy is healing us, our children, our men, our ancestors, and each other! Welcome to Journey 2 self! And I want to personally thank the generations of women that I stem from. My soul has been transformed into its true self due to the love from my mother, all my grandmothers, aunts, sisters, friends, my dependable mother in love & family in love (I saw that somewhere I was too excited to stop saying family in law b/c it’s the love that binds us. Same for my supportive bonus mom and bonus family!). Thank you to the women I’ve met in passing, previous teachers and mentors. This week your homework is to reflect on how you view the women in your life and be sure to let them know that you see them and that it’s the feminine/goddess energy for you!
